In my (failing) attempt to network my pc, an idea came to me. How functional are bluetooth networks?

All I want to do is have a way to remotly admin the server. I really don't have to transfer much data back and forth, just control the processes it's running.

Couldn't I just buy a bluetooth USB dongle, plug it in and remote desktop in over that connection?

Is it as easy as that?
 
well, the server is running music on my home theater. I expect to be controlling it from across the room
 
bluetooth+networks=disaster, you can get devices with 100metre range, but then you have the speed issue, they will operate at around 732kbps, and when i tried bluetooth networking i just sent all the stuff back, no mattter what i did i couldn't get my 2 pc's to recognise each other, let alone communicate!
