Boot CD errors

Ive burned about 20 boot CD's all different kinds (Linux, Windows, Other stuff)
And Nero says the CD burned successfully, and the CD passed the verification, then I stick it in my completely dead laptop with no OS and boot.
It start up, asks me if I want to boot form CD, I say yes, it boots, and starts installing Windows.
Then it starts coming up with a bunch of errors like "The file xxxxxx.xxx cannot be copied form the CD. press Enter to try again or ESC to skip"
I restart my computer, attempting to reformat my HD and try again, expect this time, it wont even boot. The laptop starts, and it asks me if it wants to boot from CD, I say yes, then it freezes...
I can't figure out if it is a CD problem, or a burner problem, or a CD drive problem.
I am burning using Nero 7, a supposedly _NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A burner, and my laptop that I am trying to install to is a IBM Thinkpad 600E.

it could be your drive is bad. try a externel cd drive or a differnet one
I agree

..try the cd in another pc with a hard drive that has no os. put your notebook hd in the pc, just for testing

windows xp does not support installing on usb or remote drives. Xp will install up to the first reboot then bomb... that may be enough to test the bad cd drive therory , just do not expect a full install.
