Boot cd

Your Nero Burning program (If you have) gives you the option to create a bootable CD, but you will have to have a Startup disk as it will need it.

Of course we are talking about the Win 98 Bootable CD, not the WinXP.

I have a iomega cd burner. Do I just copy the files on the startup disk to the cd?

Thanks

What burning software are you using??? Is it Nero as I suggested? Or something else???

If you are using Nero, you will see an option while choosing the CD type saying, Create Boot CD, you will choose it and continue with the procedures.

I finally created a bootable cd using Nero. After I booted up this is what came up [ER=DOS] A:\>. What do I do now?

Thanks

Like i said in post #2, what do you want to make a boot cd for? diagnostic tools is the most common purpose...

What i mean, is that there are bootable cd's out there that already have a host of diag programs, like UBCD (my favorite) (http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/), but things like this are usually best left to those who know exactly what they are doing, you can really mess a system up if you don't. :)

I do believe that he wants to create a bootable Windows XP installation disk, right? If so there are many programs out there that will allow you to do this. I did suggest one but I do believe it's a trial version. Nero prob. will do this also but i've not used it for this purpose.

Edit:

It's funny how you made so many posts on the same topic by placing them in different sections of the forum :P, dont do that cause it gets confusing :). Anyhow the reason for this edit is because I left you a personal message so if you'll check your personal message you just might find some info that'll help you with your problem.
