Boot Failures because of overclocking

We had a brief power outage last week, and now have computer issues....It was on a surge protector...

If the computer sleeps, it seems to not wake up from it....All the fans run, just nothing comes up on the screen....

If I turn off the computer and rebot. I get a message, " the system has experienced boot failures because of overclocking....Last setting in the bios may not coincide with current H/W setings.....

It then boots, but takes about 4-5 minutes for anything to show up on tghe screen..

I have not overclocked this system.....

Any ideas on what to do....

Shut it down, unplug the power supply. Hit the power button a few times. Then reset the bios, either by the jumper( if its a two pin, just put a jumper on them and take it off. Or if its a 3 pin, move the jumper to CLR, then put it back) or take the boards battery out for a few minutes, then put it back. Plug the computer back up and see what happens.

Hey Thanks,

That worked.....

So would getting a UPS help with this problem.....We seem to get a lot of power blips here in the Southeast with all the afternoon storms we get i the summer....
