Boot files Partition?

If you guys could at least tell me if your boot files are right next to your os it would be helpful to determine the normal layout, which I'm trying to replicate.

Just install your OS as normal. Boot files are installed by the OS during installation.

If you are formatting the drive during windows installation, windows will make a small boot partiton before your c drive.

Yes, I wish to put my boot files on the same partition as my OS. I have a C drive which my operation system is on then before that there is a separated partition for my boot files. What operations can I go through to ensure a clean install in which my boot files are on the same partition as my OS and still have my chip-set recognize them first; meaning setting the partition as a priority drive. Before windows 7 install do I have to wipe the disk or also reformat to NTFS? Also when the boot files are on a separate partition the drive shows up in windows explorer.

I will try a simple clean install, should I delete the partition with my boot and reformat in windows install and try that?

Yes delete all existing partitions (back up any data you need first).

Okay first part of windows installed, however to restart is says no boot device available. So I pick my secondary hard drive and it loads my First hard drive. apparently windows did not install a boot device on my priority hard disk???

You need to change the HDD priority in the BIOS to your primary drive with Windows on it.
