boot from dvd

i have a pioneer dvr-110d dvd recorder. i cannot boot from a cd. i replaced it with a regular cd rom and it booted fine with a cd in the drive. does anyone know why i cant boot from this drive?

are you sure it's a bootable dvd?

perhaps the drive's too slow to read the toc before the bios parses it for boot information

I think he means its a CD hes trying to boot from with his DVD Burner.

My guess would be that in the BIOS, the DVD Burner isnt set to be read before the hard drive. So have a look and see if the DVR-110D is listed to boot first (at least before the hard drive).

bios is ok

the bios is set correctly, i put another cd rom drive in and it booted fine with a cd in it.
