Situation & more info that might not be important:
I have a family cpu with a stock 40gig HD and now a 250 gig sata HD. I didnt know this HD was a serial connection so i had to buy an adapter that connects from the HD to a pci slot. I want to keep the old HD and new HD separated so viruses or anything else dont cross over. So only one can be enabled at a time for this. If i disable a HD in the bios screen then it boots up on the other HD but the disabled HD is still avliable once the pc is booted up. Therefore i disabled the opposite HD from the drvice manager window on each HD( if running on sata HD the 40 gig stock HD is disabled, vice versia)Disableing the opposite HD from device manager will stop any communication aka viruses, spyware,ect.. from crossing over right?
Problem:
When i start up the pc I must press delete to get into bios and then change which hard drive to boot up on, or just HD priority, anytime i want to change the HD.
Solution???:
I want to set this up so it automatically always loads the family 40 gig HD unless i put in a floppy which will tell bios or w/e so it will load mine..
Floppy inserted= load my 250gig hd only
Floppy not insteted=load family 40 gig hd only
Can i do this? Will it work? I have no idea how to edit a floppy to do this so any websites or any info greatly appricated!
