Boot Loop on Windows Vista

Hi all,
I beg your pardon in advance for my mistakes at writing in English. I'm stuck on a "old" Toshiba, while I switch it on it goes to the restore screen as if I turned it off wrong. Then a dark-striped screen appears and it resets. So that it loads the first stuff, then it goes to the restore and still crashes.
It could go on and on and on.
And well, I've no idea about how to manage with it!
I've just read randomly on the net, and I may just need to switch it on with a setup CD of Windows Vista and choose the "repair" option, but as I'm not an expert, I wouldn't be that sure. I hope someone may help, I thank you all in advance for your help.

Yes you need to get a Vista disc and use the repair option or just back all of your files (documents, music, photos etc - anything that is important to you) to a flash drive or something and just reformat and reinstall Vista using the recovery partition or recovery CDs on your laptop. If it's a Toshiba you may need to create the recovery DVDs yourself, there should be an application pre-installed which will help you do that.

I'd love to just say "pass it over here and I'll sort it for you" but it's kinda tricky when we're online and probably living in completely different countries. :/

Dear VistaKid,
thank you very much for your support!
I just have a few issues now: where do I get an installation CD for Vista?
I was thinking of downloading but would I new to burn it into a cd or a DVD?
That's the only way I can do it, as it doesn't switch on at all!
Is that all I need to know?
Thank you very much,
Marco

Toshiba may have put a recovery partition on your laptop which will restore Vista for you. As soon as the laptop boots up see if it tells you to press a key to Rescue and Recover or something of the like.

As said in my first post, Toshiba may have an application which you can download or it may already be installed on your laptop which will create the Vista discs for you.

Make sure you back up any personal files before reinstalling as reinstalling Vista will wipe them most likely.
