Boot-up issue

Just got back from a 10 day holiday to my parents and started up my PC to be confronted with this annoying problem.

Normal start-up, but once it got to windows it is incredibly slow (im in safe mode currently)

I've disabled virtually every service (except Microsoft ones), allowed all 4 cores to be used etc but once it get to windows it takes absolutley ages and last time i tried a normal boot up it went to BSOD after a few minutes.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

I've run CCleaner in safe mode and got rid of a load of crap, but to no avail and im running a virus scan now.

There might be dust in your computer slowing ur hard drive spinning, or your harddrive is going out, or too full, maybe try defragmenting it. As harddrives get older they lose rpms so likely chance its your harddrive, not what's on it, in my opinion, don't quote me :D

Hmm, well, I'm managing to get into windows properly now, and its till having sparadic moments of uber laggyness. RAM and CPU is barely being used. The hard drive is about 2 months old, but ill give it a look none the less. Thanks for the reply :D
 
Try deleteing your "Cookies" and see if that helps. Adware Spyware almost invarieably winds up in your cookies; and it can reallly slow down your machine.
