My Hard drive seems to freeze up after I shut down computer or put it to sleep. It usually takes a couple of times of unplugging for a minute and then it starts up and runs fine the rest of time until I shut it down for the night. I have disabled the automatic sleep function and can leave it on without any problems, but don’t like leaving it on unattended.
It is like the hard drive is having trouble turning when starting up or at least I do not hear it, but I don’t know if it’s the hard drive sticking or maybe the motherboard is not powering up the drive. It all started with the free Win 10 upgrade from 7 although I'm not sure how the OS could be the culprit.
I always had my other computers set to display the boot up process so I would know if it was working properly, but I only see a frozen Windows logo on this computer and would like to know how to change it so I can tell if its updating or not before pulling the plug.
