I cant boot my xp cd. I dont know why it wont but I already change the priority order in boot menu. Though I can see my DVD drive in My Computer and working fine but in boot menu main page I cant see its hardware name. Just the hard 2 hard disk.I installed new dvd drive btw. I think this is the problem though im not sure but the sure thing is that my disc is bootable because I tried booting this disc already.

Reformat it. Massive virus spread all over it and leave me no choice but to reformat. I cant wait for my antivirus whole day cleaning the drive so I come up reformatting it.

I assume, you put Windows XP CD in and you restart computer, correct?
If so, do you see this message:
Press any key to boot from CD

Is it full version Windows XP CD?
Did you try to boot it on another computer?
What computer brand is it?

Well I know that Press any key. It simply means it booted my cd but for my part, it did not. Just went to OS selection screen. I tried booting this cd couple of times already with the same computer but the old dvd rom long ago. Computer brand? hmmm . emachines? I also use easybcd that configure your boot but that was just used for having os selection.

I'm not sure, what you're saying....

Do you see this message:
Press any key to boot from CD
or you don't?

EasyBCD is not designed for XP, but for Vista and 7.

Did you go to BIOS to make sure, your DVD drive is listed 1st in "boot order"?

again, it did not. easybcd is designed for dual booting so xp is included. yes i did make it first. The only problem is that my DVD ROM is not listed in the BIOS hardwares.
EX.

PRIMARY:HDSk MODEL
SECONDARY:HDISK MODEL
PRIMARY: AUTO
SECONDARY: AUTO

where long ago i can see that AUTO as (SAMSUNG then its model name) because (SAMSUNG model name)
was my old dvd rom. I have 2 dvd rom 1 is dvd writer and 1 is not but now I only have
1 but new.

If that DVD drive is not listed in BIOS, then it's something wrong with the drive, or its connections.
You have a dual boot of XP and what?

Do you have two hard drives?

See, if you can change one of these:
PRIMARY: AUTO
SECONDARY: AUTO
from auto to CD\DVD drive
