Ok, ive downloaded KNOPPIX and un"zipped" (or w/e you call it) the iso and burned it to a disc. i tried restarting my comp with teh disc in teh drive and it starts differently like its supposed to and gets a list of all my drives and memory and all that and then it goes to a command prompt i do believe that looks something liek this "/>A:" or something like that in front which im thinking it wants me to run or save something on my floppy drive but how do i run a program on the KNOPPIX cd???

well, you dont unzip the iso, in fact you dont open it at all. you use a burning program (example nero etc.) and use the option to burn the cd image to the cd.

an iso is a cd image.

try that see how it goes.

wow thx for "answering" the most easiest ? on my entire post that i already knew how to do! ya think if i knew wut KNOPPIX is and all about that TXTSETUP.SIF stuff, i would know how to burn the image to a cd? sry that i didnt use teh right wording but hmmm lets see iso's containt basiclly teh exact same way as zips and rars do so buy me saying "unzipping" that means that i meant taking the files out of the the iso and putting them on a disc so i dont have just a "knoppix.iso" sittin on a disc that doesnt boot up at all and im suprised most of all that geese has a dam linux logo and he doesnt no wtf im talkin about wow failure

Go ahead and get mad a me too if I'm apparently wrong, but you don't extract any files from a .iso file. Sure, it contains files like a .zip or .rar file, but that's not really what it is. It's a CD image and a disc burning program such as Nero knows how to read the .iso file and burn the files to a CD correctly in order to make it bootable. Just extracting the files and burning them all on a CD will not do the same thing as having a program interpret the file.
