Hello

ive got an issue with a my bro's comp when he powers up, it gets to the screen with 'windows xp home edition' on it and the moving bar at the bottom but after that a blue screen pops up for a split second then vanishes and the comp restarts with the safe mode, recent config and normal mode options.
ive ran memtest89 for a good while and all has come back clear, is their a way of seeing what that blue srceen says? it comes and goes so fast u cant read it??

If it's XP you're running go to "System", click on the "Advanced" tab, click on "Settings" in the "Startup and Recovery" and untick "Automatic Restart"

thats the way i though but unfortuantly i cannot get xp to loads at all i can get in to the bios settings and that is it xp wont load at all is their away to do it from their?

In Safe Mode you can still navigate there. Just keep pressing F8 on boot up and work your way there.

i manged to get it to stay up thank you it came up with 'unmountable_boot_volume' their is another post on here about it and someone suggested resetting the cmos how do i do tht please?

Dependant on your motherboard but by removing the small round battery ( on the motherboard) for a few minutes (obviously when turned off) and then reinserting it you will find your BIOS reset to default. Just boot up and hope it has been cleared :)
