As far as bootloaders go, grub is the best. You can also try lilo, but I have no personal experience with it. What do you mean grub corrupts? Did you make a master boot partition and install grub onto that? If installing an OS overwrites grub, you can restore it http://linuxhelp.blogspot.com/2005/11/how-to-repair-corrupt-mbr-and-boot.html. OK. Before trying Lilo, I would give grub a serious try first. I can almost garuntee that all that happened was osx overwrote the MBR and all you have to do is restore it.
