BootMGR is Compressed press ctrl+alt+del

hey, last night I compressed all my files and ended up with a black screen and the error Bootmgr is compressed press ctrl+alt+del to restart. I have an HP laptop and have tried loading several diff cd's (windows7, XP, Vista) to reformat but the the comp isnt reading any of them, how can I fix this without having to take it to geeksquad.

Did you change the boot order in the bios to boot from cd first? If so, then its possible the cd drive is bad.
 
yeah I did the whole bios thing. I also tried loading from an external harddrive but nothing happened either.
