I have a windows xp desktop that I installed windows 7 on. The installation failed in the process, the installation failed. Now when I try to start my computer it says bootmgr is not found

Boot to the windows 7 dvd and choose to delete the existing partitions, then repartition and format then install windows. Backup your personal data or you'll lose it when you delete the partitions.

If you want XP then you'll need the XP install media or hopefully you haven't deleted the factory recovery partition if its a store buught pc.

Is this a store bought pc or a custom built one? You usually have to press one of the F keys to boot to the recovery partition. What brand of pc is this?
