 I can't boot into Windows? I have just had my hard drive formatted and a partition removed. I need to install a new platform, i was going to use a xp home edition version as that is all i have access too.
I installed the hard drive back into the PC and on the first boot, just after the 'verifying dmi pool data', I get some text saying 'BOOTMGR missing press ctrl alt and del to re-start'.
I can't access my computer!
I have read some other comments about using the xp disc, but i have tired a couple of these with no change.

Please can anyone help?

bootup xp cd.... do the recovery or repair thing...it should take you to a black dos looking screen....then type in following:

"fixboot"
"fixmbr"

and then restart..and it should bootup

I have put the xp disc into every CD/DVD tray and rebooted (CTRL ALT DEL), and it still just takes me to the same stage of verifying....
Then the BOOTMGR missing.....
Do i need to configure something or press a key for it to intervene at a point so as to get the disc to be recognised?
