Both Dock and PC Adapter Power

Hello!

I recently purchased an Acer Predator 17. It comes with a 230-watt AC Adapter. I have a Dell Universal Dock D6000. This is 130W and provides (I believe) up to 65W of power to attached devices. The dock does not provide enough power for my laptop.

Is there any harm in keeping the AC adapter plugged into my laptop, while also utilizing the dock through a USB-C connection? I'm curious if while the dock cannot power the laptop by itself, if having the "full" power of the AC adapter + partial power of the dock will create issues or perhaps the system will not attempt to draw power from the dock if it has the AC Adapter plugged in?

Thanks!
J
