Bottlenecked

Hey, I'm runnin' a 2.8ghz Celeron, and a Radeon 9800 256mb. I got 1gig of ram, but it's pc-2100. Do you think my processor is bottleneckin' my graphics card? Also, I'm lookin' to buy a new processor. What's a good, valuable processor that would match my system? Socket 478, hyper-threadin ready.

what mothboard do you have (since it supports hyperthreading I assume it supports 200MHz(800) FSB)?

The RAM is one bottle neck your board supports up to DDR400 (PC3200). A CPU to look for would be any P4C (this is a Northwood P4, 512KB L2 cache, with a clock speed of up to 3.4GHz)

So after the RAM upgrade, do you think the processor will show much of an improvement? Because if it's a couple of fps I'll save the money.

Assuming you sta at 2.8GHz, you will be getting 4x the cache (from 128KB to 512KB) and a FSB increase that should make a noticable improvement, I can't gurantee a big improvement but I would expect more than a couple FPS
