Brand new computer freezes.

Hi Computer Forum.

I JUST bought a new computer, which i put together, that means that all the hardware came seperate with the chassis.
Now i put all of it together, all fans are running and everything seems to work. I installed a legal version of windows vista ultimate 64-bit.
My computer specs are:
Cooler Master Mystique 631, black aluminium (w/o PSU)
Corsair Powersupply 550W Bulk, black, ATX/EPS, 120mm fläkt, 4xSATA, SLI
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3, P45, Socket-775, ATX, 2xGbLAN, DDR2, 2xPCI-Ex(2.0)x16
Intel Core™ 2 Quad Q9400 2,66GHz, Socket 775, 6MB, 1333MHz, Boxed w/Fan
Crucial DDR2 BallistiX PC6400 4096MB CL4 Kit w/two BallistiX 2048MB's, E.P.P
Gigabyte GeForce 9800GTX+ 512MB GDDR3, PCI-Express 2.0, 2xDVI-I/HDCP
Western Digital Caviar GP 500GB SATA2, 16MB 7200RPM
Zalman CNPS9500LED Ultra Quiet CPU- Fläkt, Socket 478/775/754/939/940
Samsung DVD-recorder SH-S223Q/BEBN

And then it is, as i said, running with a legal version of Windows Vista ultimate 64-bit.

Now that its up and running, i installed 3 driver, for the GPU, the Motherboard and the samsung dvd-recorder.

My problem is now that from time to time, it just freezes completely, i cant move around with the mouse, and the screen is completely frozen.
I cant seem to find out where this problem is coming from, i bought the hardware from a well known company, who already checked that the hardware works together.

Any good guesses at why i have this problem?

Kind Regards, Daniel.

to be honest, i don't know what else of the hardware that needs a driver :'/

I didn't install the motherboards 'Dynamic energy Saver'. I thought it might use some of the power that could go to the GPU, but i might be wrong?

Everything has been installed. But it still does it, and it happens at completely random times, when im doing nothing, when im listening to music, when im typing in an web adress. The chassis temp. is 53 C, and the Core temp. is 33 C. It seems alright tbh.

You probably are. I can't see how it would slow the computer down, most likely it's one of those things that speed certain components down when all the processing power is not needed and turns all the power all the way up when you start rocking or something...

The drivers are installed, but still dosen't do the trick. Atm im installing Vista updates, can an old version of vista be the reason?

Thanks, i will look into the chipset drivers. It's a really bad feeling, when you spend so much money, and then it wont work, you know .. so i really appreciate your help. :)

Thanks alot!
