brand new hard drive not reading on the bios

i just got a new hard drive and its not working i tried different stata ports different power plug and it still wont work does anyone have any advice motherboard says uefi and i have it on legacy first

Is this going to be boot drive or storage drive? Can you hear the drive spin up when power button is pressed?

Is the drive starting? Do you hear something from it?

Is the drive listed in the BIOS?

Did you get your no CPU and no RAM system to POST yet? You will need that before trying to use the hard drive.
