while playing WoW lately, I have quite often been getting a pixelated section about 1/3 down my monitor, across horizontally, and its about 2/3 of an inch tall, but its not at any specific time. any idea what the problem is?
 
Could you get a screen shot of this? My first thought is a problem with your video card(overheating?) But I'm not totally sure.
 
Overheating comes to my mind as well, yes a screen shot would really help. You might want to update drivers if you have not in awhile. Clean out your PC with compressed air, paying close attention to the graphics card. Also check those fans.
 
the pixelation doesnt show on screen shots, and the fans are clean
the card runs mid 40's idle and low 60's during wow, but it used to run 56 idle and mid 60's in wow, so can i assume its not overheating?
maybe a $20-30 arctic silencer would be a beneficial investment regardless? (even though id rather not :P)
 
Perhaps the problem would be the screen if if the problem won't show up in screenshots.
