Brfore attempting to OC

Should Prime 95 or the Intel Stress test be already loading on your computer before you start to OC? Also, what about CPUID?

thanks

You don't have to have either running before you overclock (assuming you're using an application once in Windows to OC). But it is recommended to have a temperature monitor so you can monitor your hardware temperature (go figure). Also, HWmonitor is one, but there are lots of other system spec & temp monitors out there, but that's all they are really, just monitors, for your reference only. You don't have to have anything open to overclock.

the intel one will give you the max temp it will never hit under any load other than the intel bench, and prime with ensre it is as stable as possible, but intel does that too some.
