Brightness setting difficultys

now, i was playing quake 4 on my pc, and as usualt the background processes were being a trouble, i thought id press alt, control, delete to enter taskmanager and end them, i accidentilly ended quake 4 and now the brightness settings in windows have changed. i went to the graphics card menu in apperence and themes. and they havnt bein changed. but the brightness settings are still wrong.

help there soo bright i cant c what im doing

did you mean the brightness setting ingame or off the game? i had a brighness setting issue with the shooter Soldier of Fortune 2 Double helix online, when i reduced the game and went back on the brightness was really really high and yet when i went to brightness level in game it was set to what i had it on before... but all i did was set the brightness again by just clicking the bar were the marker was before and it worked fine again untill i reduced it again...

If its not ingame, does the brightness go back to normal when you go back on games?

no the brigtness setting from the game are still there even when im not playing a game.
