Broke my Motherboard for Internal Hard Drive?

Hello guys, My old computer had this wire http://i45.tinypic.com/20qies8.png connected from the motherboard to the Internal Hard Drive. The thing is the 7 little pin that connect to that wire broke off so I am worried on what to do? Can I just switch to SATA wires? The other side of the wire is a SATA wire.
 
If you have a SATA cable and your mobo has a SATA input, you might as well try it.

Can you get a shot of the mobo where it broke?
