broken part...

Okay I'm hoping someone on here can help me out. I was working on the my laptop the other day and accidentally yanked the power cord and now it won't take a charge. I opened up the laptop and saw that the piece where the cord plugs into broke. Unfortuanely I am dead broke and can't afford to get it fixed because I heard it will cost about $300 I decided I would do it myself...so I superglued it. It worked for awhile but not you have to hold the cord in a upward position to get it to take a charge. I was wondering what the part is called, and if there is anyway I can buy it somwhere and install it in there. If anyone has any suggestion I would appreciate it! Thanks!

Hey

Is there any way that you could post a picture? I think that you could use something to make the size of the power plug end fit the broken part in the back of the lappy. However, it is hard knowing how serious the damage really is simply from reading it. Clearly you have a problem in terms of contact given that you need to hold it in an upright position for it to work.

Well....you can't really see it cause I glued it back together....lol. I can't take a pic or what the back and load it though if you think it will help. My friend said that pin broke...but I know nothing about that stuff. When we took the part out it was actually cracked in half....

Well hopefully it doesn't spark, shock you or start a fire. I recommend getting it fixed properly and keep flamable stuff away from those areas. It's very dangerous and can zap your other components too.
