BSoD and Bios?

Over the last 3 weeks I have gotten the Blue Screen of Death 3 times. Never had it before. I get this after reporting the error:

I have a 5 year old Dell D600 laptop with XP Pro. I'm up to date with Windows updates. I haven't added any new software and I'm not really that computer literate. I have never updated the old Dell's BIOS which is A11. Is that something I should do?

Or just use the custom drivers Update at Microsoft?

Thanks, Jk

Just checked the Windows website and after they scan my computer it reads there are no updates available for my lappy. What to do next?

When do you usually get the blue screen? When booting into windows?

First of all, do not trust windows update to have the lastest drivers for your hardware. You need to go to either the hardware manufacturers website(nvidia, intel, ati, etc...) or the laptops manufacturers website(Dell) to download the updated drivers.

I would first uninstall your video driver and then download the latest version and install it and see if that fixes the issue. If it don't, then go to the next one. But telling us when exactly you get the blue screen might pin it down to a certain hardware device.
