BSOD+code43

My situation:
I was playing Bioshock (which I've been playing on full settings for ~2 weeks no prob) then exited Bioshock and opened Dragon Age: Origins (which I've been playing full settings ~1 month no prob). On the opening video sequence the computer froze, then I got a beatiful BSOD saying I should restart if I hadn't seen that screen before. I restarted normally (not safe mode) and when I logged on my screen's resolution had reverted to 640x800 or something. I put it back to 1680x1050 and checked my video card. It was reporting a code 43 error: "this device has reported a problem and has been disconnected" or something to that effect. When I tentatively started Team Fortress 2 nothing happened... at all. I've updated video card drivers and uninstalled/installed them. Any help would be awesome.

My setup:
dual core cpu
(1) GeForce 8800 GT 512
(1) widescreen 1680x1050 monitor
No overclocking used

Thanks!

It's a bit of a long shot but try:
A) taking your GPU out and reseat it in the slot.
B) try using one stick of ram in the slot closest to to the CPU (try each stick if you have more than one individually. one could be bad.)

No luck. It could be that the card got overcharged with static, crapped out, broke. I don't know. I guess I'll try reinstalling the GPU the comp came with to see if it's something wrong with the GPU or the motherboard/driver/etc.

K, the old GPU (Geforce 7300 LE) works fine. Graphics in games are relatively crap but it works.

One question though, does anyone know what is likely wrong with the other card and what options I have for fixing it? It seems like it has some white corrosion looking stuff and it was a little dusty upon examination. I would guess it's a darn good paperweight now unless someone tells me otherwise.
