hi guys, lately, since i have rebuilt my computer, i have been getting BSOD's often, up to two or three a day. they seem to only come on during games, so im guessing it has something to do with my system being stressed. i took a picture of the windows recovery box:

any help would be greatly appreciated, i cant keep losing hours of games because of this!

You stressed your ram yet? Run a couple of passes of memtest and then OCCT it. If it passes, then we'll have to see if it's something else. Some ram arrives making errors. Always good to test it before you keep it.

ok. its rated at 800mhz at the timings in my sig, but currently i have it running at 1066, 5-5-5-18.

i'll try that ram test, thanks.

EDIT: what is OCCT?

oh. well i've run through 50% of memtest now, i think its not going to catch it if the problem is there. i'll try your program right now.

allright, OCCT caught something i didnt expect.

the test stopped because my CPU apparently began to overheat, even though speedfan said that it was still only at 45 degrees. the graph shows my CPU1 topping out at 70C before the test stopped...

i dont quite understand how its so high, but i guess i could always reapply some AS5 and see if it helps...

Which test did you run? OCCT Ram test is usually what will fail when all else passes. And as far as your temps, I doubt it ever gets that high during gaming but I'd still try a reseat and see if you could get them lower.

Off subject: I have that exact same background right now.

lawlz nice :D

on a more serious note, i'll be back in a few minutes, im going to try and reseat this damn thing.

update: i reseated it, and my temps seem to have dropped a few degrees, but i am still knackered. look at this:

which of the programs do i believe? speedfan is reporting awesome temps, and OCCT is reporting ghastly ones.

oh and i downloaded coretemp too. it is agreeing completely with speedfan. right now, while typing this im at 28C on both programs...
