BSOD...What di I need to do now???

I've gotten the BSOD a couple of times in the last hour on this fairly new HTPC...It has a Gigabyte board with a dual core E5200 and 2 gigs if ddr2 800 running 32 bit XP....I know it could be a stick of the ram but what else could it be???? No new added hardware the last few days.....
 
Couple of BSODs don't need to cause a panic, but let's see what you got there.

Download BlueScreenView (in Zip file)
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

As I said before, not easy to jump into any definitive conclusion from two BSOD.
On a top of it, you have two different errors and the second one doesn't even mention any file.

Judging from BSV report, it's about your video (ati2cqag.dll)

The second one, explained here: http://www.faultwire.com/solutions-...E-EXCEPTION-NOT-HANDLED-0x1000008E-*1306.html also mentions video issue.

Do you remember, if you're doing anything specific, when the errors happened?

Actually I was just surfing, nothing unusual I don't think....
 
I'd try updating your drivers for all of your hardware. That may fix your problem.
 
Generally speaking, drivers should be left alone, unless some is causing problems.

You may try to reinstall video driver, but personally, I'd wait couple more days and see what happens.
If you got more BSODs, post fresh BSV report and we'll know more.
 
I just finished with a clean install on the entire system just yesterday and updated everything then.... Could be something corrupt in that process possibly???? I've been using the pc ever since the last crash and its went well since....

May I ask where you came to the conclusion that drivers should be left alone?

Drivers are updated to fix problems that the existing driver update had. Like with some games videocards dont support them until an update. Even if you are not having any problems its a good idea to update them then if you have a problem with the update or something just rollback to the older driver.

It seems ATI's latest drivers could be causing the issue, as a lot of people are having issues after installing them. I also had issues when reformatting my machine last month when I installed the latest ATI drivers, which I had to find a later series of drivers and install them for everything to run stable. Try uninstalling the driver and using an older driver to see if it stops from blue screening.

Did the clean install and updated driver to newest one,but there was two 50MB files put out the same day so I picked one(didn't know which one so I just choose one) then did that PowerDVD Blu-ray system check from Cyberlink last night after the crashes and it said my system "Failed" so I went back and installed the other driver and got a "Pass" and today I've been letting a Blu-ray movie play all morning and so far so good.......
