Hi Guys

No sure if this is the right forum, so apoligies in advance if im in the wrong place

I have a problem with my laptop when ever i try to turn the wifi on
Everytime I turn it on i get the dreaded blue screen

In device manager I have exclamation marks next to the following....
1394 Net Adapter
Direct Parallel
WAN Miniport (PPTP)

Im assuming these are related??

Does anyone know how to begin solving my wifi issues and the exclamations, as I can't uninstall and reinstal these ones

From what I can tell my laptop has no other issues (that I am aware of at least)

Thanks in advance
Ant

Let me guess, you went from Vista to XP? If not, you need to go to the laptop's manufacturer's website and download the drivers for those devices.

Actually, I didn't.....I'm clueless about computers, just need a little help

I've got the driver disk that came with the laptop but it says everything is up to date

Should I check the website to see if any updates have been released since the time of purchase?

Go into device manager and uninstall all 3 of those devices, then reboot and see if windows will reinstall them correctly.

I can't uninstall the Direct Parallel or the WAN Miniport (PPTP) driver - just won't let me

I can uninstall the 1394 Net Adapter driver, but when it reinstalls on start-up it says it's not for this platform (or words to that effect)
