Bsod

I have a Dell Latitude D600 and I changed the HDD because the old one was having problems. I can only start up in safe mode, if I try starting up in normal mode the computer just restarts and shows me a BSOD. I used BlueScreeView to view the info for the BSOD, here is what it said:
Bug Check String: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
Bug Check Code: 0x1000000a
Caused By Driver: ntoskrnl.exe

How do I fix this, so I can start up in normal mode too. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I'm planning on reinstalling Windows after formatting the HDD then trying again. It's a legit version of Windows XP on the HDD, I just cloned the older HDD and put the contents on the newer/ bigger HDD. The HDD isn't brand new but it works (or at least it should). It starts up in safe mode so I'm guessing it's software related, I'm just wondering if there is something I can do before I try to reformat.

What kind of problems did you have with the old hard drive?
If the old one was malfunctioning, there is a good chance, that cloning may not work properly.
If you had some important files corrupted due to old drive issues, they won't fix themselves on a cloned drive.

I was thinking the same thing. It's a laptop of a friends of a friend and it was giving errors concerning the HDD (I don't know what kind of errors). My friend just told me to replace the HDD, so I did. I will just reformat and reinstall fresh copy of Windows, hopefully that will fix it.
