BSOD's... Again!

My luck with computers is crap! I've had problems with BSOD's more times than I can remember!

If any of you remember, the last time I had problems I put it down to the HDD. Which I then decided was Ok to use and is now in my PC.

About a week ago I had a few BSOD's, which I thought were caused by my RAM being undervolted (2.1v), so I upped it up to 2.2v (which is what Crucial recomend) and the problem appeared to go. It was fine for about 4 days or so, butnl just now it F'ed up again!

I don't think it's the RAM, but I'm running memtest on it at the moment just to be sure.

I know it's not much information, but does any body have any ideas?

Did you install any drivers or anything before it started happining again?
When does it happen?
Like are you playing a game etc.
Did you try returning your q6600 to stock and checking it?

I know you're running memtest but have you run Vista's own built in memory test - mdsched.exe. Just might show up something

Are you positvie its not the HDD again? :P just double check with another HDD to be safe lol.

I got a BSOD after ocing my proc too much, try clocking it down, since you do have it OCed.

There wasn't anything specific I'm doing when it happens, Nope.

I'd try it at stock, but once it Blue Screened today it wouldn't boot. So I can't actually test it at stock, or run Vista's memory tester.

I wasn't able to catch the code it gave me, I was so pissed off I just reset it. Which was a bad move really.

Oh, I don't have another HDD I could test, I only have 2 and they're both in my computer. One of them is in warranty still though, so I could send it back.

Got a friend with a 775 socket system you could test your parts on? I almost wonder if its the HDD/MB/Quad.

ohh not the BSOD again danny, maybe its your Psu thats the actual fault?
and since your now SLI maybe its making even more of a problem.

i would get a new Psu in the 750W range.

The PSU uses 260watts idle and 460watts at full load, so it's fine.

I could try it on the other HDD, yeah. Takes the piss.

Try mailing me that tuniq tower...I am sure your issue will resolve once you do.

When my HDD died...I just got blue screens when I booted up

So then your taking the next step to install OS on second HDD, right? Before you do, what happens after the computer posts?

The PSU could be the problem after all. How do you know your wattage? From your ZALMAN controller panel?

I mean, the recommended specs for 8800GTS's in SLi are 650W with 52A on 12+ rail. The HX520 does meet the amperage since it has 54A but still, the wattage you're almost 150W short. I would consider getting a new PSU.

Once the computer POSTS I just get a black screen, though the backlight is on and so is the monitor.

As long as the PSU meets the needed amperage, it's good. I've also never used near all of my PSU, if that makes sense. The most being 460watts, read using the Zalman, yeah. I think the PSU could be the problem if I was using more than it had, but I'm not. Right?

The Tuniq stays! :P

I keep telling you man those nvidia cards ruin pc's and turn you into a sissy.
How did it start as soon as you added another card for sli?
Is it the same thing it did before when you thought it was the drive?
