Budget APU build $500

That is a good idea, however I would have to find a really good deal in order to cram a case, a psu, and a video card into that $500 budget. i5 oems usually hover around $300 on ebay, but every once in a while you can get a nice used one for $250. In that case I could fit everything in the budget, but again I would have to get really lucky.
 
Maybe you could look for an older generation i5 or i3, or possibly a Phenom II X4 bundle or something? All will perform better than that APU setup.
 
Doesn't look like it. It's a slim tower, so you need a different type of PSU and a low-profile graphics card. Not really ideal for gaming.
 
Yeah that was a question out of pure curiosity. I ended up recommending the guy a normal desktop tower and not some slim crap.
