Here's a budget build that I'd like you guys to look over and give me some suggestions on. I've already got a case and a PSU (450W), speakers, monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 Allendale 2.2GHz - $124.99

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 - $96.99

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) - $46.99

XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 - $87.99

Western Digital Caviar 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - $49.99

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - $5.99

Total w/Shipping = $424.88

I'm thinking I'd OC the E4500 to around 3.0 - 3.2GHz. I was also really hoping for a 7900GS, but that's too much money. Is there a cheap one I could find somewhere? My budget is about $420. I'm already a tad bit over budget. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if there are any parts that I can switch out. Keep in mind though, I cannot go any higher. Also, everything above should all work together, correct? Thanks.

What is your PSU's brand and model ?
I assume you've already got a DVD drive.

What will u do with that computer ?

Yes, I've also already got a DVD-ROM Drive, and a CD-RW drive so I will be putting both of those in the system. Sorry, I forgot to add that.

The power supply I have came with the Rosewill case I bought a few months back. It's manufacturered by Rosewill, is 450W, and is model "PS-450W".

This system is mainly going to be used for Video Editing, Video Encoding, Photo Editing, Multimedia, and multi-tasking. Very little, if any, gaming will be going on. I prefer the older games anyway so I would be playing those if at all, nothing new such as Halo or Crysis.

I would suggest using that PSU, Rosewill isn't a known "good" brand according this list, but it might be a good idea to check who the real manufacturer of that PSU is by checking the UL and see if its a known reliable manufacturer. But one thing is sure, I would definitively NOT oc with that PSU until you can find a better one.

Besides that, it can be a fine build.

Is the 7900GS overkill? I was thinking about maybe going with a little less off a motherboard so that I would be able to get the better card. I don't know if I really need it or not, so that's probably my main question.

It is a overkill when you can just overclock the 7600. You will get good performance because you aren't doing any gaming I assume. Also, I assume you have a OS?

Yes, I've already got an OS. So in your opinion it would be best for me just to go with the 7600GT and if I feel later that it's lacking in a few certain areas that I should just overclock it?

How was the 7600GT I selected? Is XFX a good brand? There are so many different variations in cards out there and I just want to make sure I have the absolute perfect system to fit my needs.

Thanks for all your help!
