Budget Buy

Hi,

Brand new to the forum here. My current desktop has died on me after 7 years of going strong. It was nothing special, but worked well for me. I am currently in the market for a budget new PC Desktop. I am currently looking at these two

Any suggestions or comments? My budget is under 500

I mostly use it for browsing, email, and my most load is music recording. I run reaper with VST and Plugins. My old desktop did fine and I would hope that a new one would do the same. I appreciate any help or suggestions in leading me to purchasing a new desktop.
 
Don't limit yourself to office depot, look at online sites like newegg and amazon. Would recommend staying away from HP's. Definitely go with Intel quad core.
