Hi, I'm building my first computer and i want to know if you had any suggestions for different parts and what you think the performance will be like. My budget is like $500 including the monitor and OS so like $300. I know its not nearly enough to build a good computer but my parents are paying for it so I don't really get to decide what the budget is. Its a very big priority of mine to get a graphics card later, but since I start school in a week, and i wont be playing games during the school year, i can wait with the graphics card. I'm hoping to but the parts very soon so i would very much appreciate a swift reply. Thanks in advance!

HDD - get one with 7200RPM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136073

Mobo - best to go for something can take AM3+ such that you can upgrade in future
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128504

RAM - go for single stick instead, as you only have 2 RAM slot on the board

PSU - that is ok for the time being. I do reccommend slightly better psu like corsair cx 430/ antec ea 380/ XIGMATEK NRP-PC Series 400W such that you can stick a $100 video card without problem

Maybe the parents will see the importance/big difference of a few more bucks.
The mb is a very important component for longevity and the upgradability/use. And you'll have to buy Windows again if/when it needs to be changed to a diff model. I wouldn't cheap out on that.
What I have here may be a bit over the $500 when your done, but everything has good quality made by top manuf's. AM3+ mb with good HD onboard graphics that will run 1 or 2 monitors. Killer deal on the power supply that will handle a nice size video card later on. A bit faster ram w/heat spreaders. The hard drive is pretty speedy, reliable, quiet, and the OD drive combo is hard to beat.

The list page says this is $92. Perhaps a phone call to NE will get it for that.
GIGABYTE GA-880GMA-USB3 AM3+ AMD 880G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
( http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007625%20600138080%204027&IsNodeId=1&name=%2475%20-%20%24100 )

Or, normally wouldn't suggest open box, but if the Gigabyte winds up being $104, for the budget this one is $90. But go with the Gig. NIB if you can. ATX gives you a little more room, esp if you go with a double wide card.
ASUS M5A88-V EVO AM3+ AMD 880G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

NE eblast has CPU promo of $10, only $65.
AMD Athlon II X3 445 Rana 3.1GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor ADX445WFGMBOX

$30.
Antec NEO ECO 620C 620W Continuous Power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ

Seagate Barracuda ST3500413AS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive + Samsung OD

After the 2 promo's and with the Gigabyte board @ $92. (and 0 shipping) =
$306 delivered.
$286 after the rebate.
The amount over $300 tbd by the cost of the case.

Im going to go with the Biostar board because if I wanted to upgrade the CPU, I'upgrade the Motherboard too. All of the rest of the stuff I already pretty much had, except for the PSU. I went with the CORSAIR Builder Series CX430 V2 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply cause i really dont think ill need more than that. Any other suggestions or do you think i should order my parts?

This ^ , better quality, and the price was the reason for the Neo Eco 620. But you can buy a new power supply along with the video card if you want to since that 400watter won't game much.
Is this HDD good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136073?
This Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811815006? It has cable management.
And with the mobo i have it has two slots of dual channel RAM so i should have two sticks. Right?
Don't get a recertified hdd, or used, new ones are cheap enough.
Samsung F3/F4 - WD Black - Seagate w/ 7200.12 are the top choices. Blues and greens are a bit slower for C:\
Cases with bottom mounted ps are preferable.
Dual channel would be 2x the bandwidth.

ok so i chose the F3, its on sale for $50. I dont really care about bottom/top mounted. And I will upgrade the PSU with the GPU. So dual channel is better right? Do you have any other suggestions? Should I go ahead and buy it?
