Budget Gaming Computer

well.. its doable.. but idd go for a 64bit prosessor/mobo ;) it will cost more,.. but will have a lot better performance :)

that is a 64 cpu. And you might wana consider buying 1 stick of 512mb instead of 2 256mb so you can upgrade later.

Why not wireless?? I got a wireless optical mouse, no lag whatsoever, whether it be CS: Source, HL2, or Doom 3, no delayed response time at all.

I was just curious as to why you were buying a $24 sound card that has 8 channels, but yet you are only going to use 2.1 speakers on it? The motherboard you're buying has already got onboard sound (with 6 channels), and so I would save that $24, or use it to buy better RAM.

the mx-310 doesnt look like a ball mouse to me, so one of us has to be stupid.

and yea after i looked at it i meant to change the RAM but never did when i created the wishlist. ill probably get 2 512 sticks of corsair value ram for $15 more.

I ask again. Seriously, why do you want to buy a $24 sound card that has 8 channels, and then only put 2.1 speakers through it?? Like I said before, the motherboard you have chosen has already got built in sound, and as you said it is a budget PC, I don't think your after the best sound around

Just ditch the sound card and use the $24 to buy something else, or like most people are saying, upgrade your RAM or processor :)

EDIT: What about using that $24 to buy a better processor, like:

Or, if you can find another $4 from somewhere, try this one :):

maybe he wants to eventually get a good speaker system? You gotta think for the futre too.

To me it just seems a bit of overkill. From what he said in his first post in this thread, he said 'It's not a high end system but would that be a pretty good computer to start out with?' and so I just thought that he wasn't after the best sound system in the world.

But I totally agree with you liuliuboy, furture-proof is the way forward. But personally, to make it more future-proof, I would upgrade the processor due to the sound card being a easy buy and install for the future. Whereas if he was to buy a new processor, there is more hassle taking out the old one, and putting in the new one.

His mobo will support him up to 5.1 surround sound, which in my opinion for games and music, is plenty. You only really need a sound card if your editing music, or using some multimedia programs.

Good to start with ... just ditch the ECS board :)

There is lag. Whether you notice it or not is a different matter :)
