Hey everyone! i need help looking for a laptop but its on aa really tight budget. the budget is about 300 USD and all i need the laptop for is internet music and some MS Word

Thanks!

I really can't think of a place to get a new notebook for $300. Most start at $400-$500, and you can probably only get a used one for $300.

Here is an example of a bad website.

A $400 laptop with windows 98, this is a bad website.
A lot of the used notebook sites you would find are incredibly overpriced in that way.

Basically what you should look for in a $300 laptop is atleast 512mb ram, xp or vista, dvd rom or burner, and a 40gb + hard drive. Most used laptop sites rip people off.

edit: I have seen 6 used notebook sites, all overpriced. I can't stress how much you need to shop around. I just saw a $300 notebook with a 10gb hard drive.. Horrible..

DELL! probably not 300, more in the 550- 650 $. Dells makes pretty good computers. I've had over 3 Dells and they are great. I'm on my new fourth one now. lol. Highly recommend.

Do not go to one of those websites. DO NOT.

With budget that tight, I'd have a look into Asus EeePC's. For internet, music and word it is just fine, and it's very nice to carry around.

Yeah i've seen those and they intrigue me O.O but their linux based OS so is there was way to boot up like Xp or Vista on an external Hdd? or even replace the internal hdd?

Well...

1. Are you used to the mac operating system, and if not would you be willing to use an old version?

2. Are you willing to not be able to do modern games or most programs?

3. Are you willing to have a small hard drive?

For $450, you can get a much better deal.
If you can spend $450, you can get a newegg computer.
