Can you? Is it really hard? Because building a desktop is pretty easy... but scince a laptop is really cramped is ti harder?

I want a laptop... but they are expensive.. so I was thinking maybe it would be better and cheaper to build one? Is that right?

Your better off leaving it to a big manu. They build them for cheaper, offer warranties, and well make you do very little work. I have never built a laptop myself, but I have assembled and de-assembled various parts, and its very confusing. Plus, I don't even think anybody offers barebone laptop systems for a reasonable price unless you get one off of ebay.

Please search the forums as this has been covered in the past. You can't just go out and buy a monitor, keyboard, touchpad, CPU, etc etc and make a laptop. You have to get a barebones. About all you can work on would be the HD, CPU, RAM, and a wifi card.

All in all, it's cheapest to just purchase a laptop. I've seen new ones for around $500.

Try Dell (www.dell.ca), you could build laptops there.
My friend just bought a good laptop there, he's gone crazy and spent CAD $1,800 there.
I personally don't like Dell's design, but it is doing a very good job by customizing desktops and laptops.
