1. Mobo. Make sure the mobo works with the case's airflow (i.e., the positioning of the DIMMs)
2. Screw the 3700, save your money and grab the 3500
3. Save your money on the SC and grab a Audigy2ZS

Looks good though it could do with a tad more ram. But i'm nitpicking
It will have a gig, why would it need anymore at this current time? Not any general software or applications use more than a gig..

thats not true. newer games can easily utlilize the power of having 2 gigs. bf2 can load much faster with 2 gigs over one.

id say get dual core or spend less on a single core proc.... and spend more on the video card. i dont like the look of the x1600xt.. get an x1800... or an x800 something

Yes but i could write a program that uses 3GB of RAM right off the bad too ;)

The x1600XT is a better choice than the X800!

Now as to answer the question, the PC will be used for general gaming needs, internet browsing and so on. The usual stuff we could say.

bump

bump - any further comments, suggestions? My friend needs the PC fast and I believe it's a good setup. However, I welcome any other inputs.

1. Drop the cpu, go dual core.
2. drop a hard drive (Late he can pick one up, or when he sees he wont need to, he wont get it)
3. use onboard sound for a while (seriously, onboard sound is nothing bad, you cant even tell the difference)
4. i say drop the x1600 unless hes going to be doing some hardxcore OC'ing.
5. Pick out a new motherboard. No need for all that plus SLi when gouing with a ATi. I suggest the regular ultra d, as i have it and it has great features.

Thats just MHO.
