Thats about 500 bucks after rebates wont be an awesome gaming machine but would def be a good all round computer. Wait for some other recommendations. If i were you and you could afford it think about core 2 duo thats where the performance is at.

i am a graphic artist who dislikes macs, so i decided i will try to build a computer. image editing, video editing. one of my it friends said 'build a gaming pc, with a big hard drive'. and just for future reference, is it possible to run osx on a setup like mine? would be nice to dual boot leopard when it comes out. i will NOT be using vista, and if it helps, i am going to revise the list tomorrow with more options and names instead of just links.

might be more helpful?

Get a DX10 card!!! The performance is comparible to 7600GS. But I do suggest getting a 8600GT instead

CPU: Intel C2D E6320 $173
There is no point getting a E6300 for $174....

PSU: XCLIO STABLEPOWER 500W ATX 500W Power Supply $70

MB: Get those with P965/ 650i/ 680i chipset
GPU: get a DX10 card. as I mention above. Not worth to getting a 7300GT.

this is really another startup computer, which in layman's terms is: i need a computer that has nice 'buildability' and can be upgraded in a year when the wife stops bitching about how much a computer was.
