I don't know where to start
Can you help me build a desktop for $300
If it goes a little over or under it doesn't matter.
Preferably Newegg.

I'm going to be needing the Keyboard, Mouse, & Moniter also.
But I think I'd have to get more money first.

Can you help me
thanks

No that I have.
I have the OS.
I just need a simple basic computer, not going to play any games either.
Thanks

the power supplies that come in cases are never any good, in addition that board supports dual core, so that could be swapped out easily.

No, No, No, for processor don't stick him with the old Netburst architecture, the Core has almost the same price. My build is Dual Core, too.

As for a case & PSU, pick one yourself and let us take a look at it.

Don't let the low speed on the processor fool you, my Pentium 4 is 3.2Ghz and a Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86Ghz whips it badly. It is just the speed comparison between the two microarchitectures.

Im sure they will all work together...dunno if the Psu is any good though.
Not much of a budget to have a big choice though:cool:

Grand Total:* $236.67

The whole system is bad for not saying almost OBSOLETE, that psu is crap for the price you pay (without including the rebate )

Lol what do you expect for that budget...a quad core?:D

cummon then you make a build list with $300

INTELCRAZYs build is better but it needs more ram.

Change that mobo for a AM2 -.-

He expects something that he can at least upgrade without having to replace most things >_> and anyway isn't that hard to make a system for 300$

Best way I figured to do a build was piece by piece, I used to save up money, build, use it for 2 months and sell it, but that got old when ppl tried bargaining:rolleyes:. An instant $300 is hard to build by, even Dell has a hard time with that. If you are saying that it easy to build, then build it, and don't do it with crap parts, you already complained about them.

yes then you have to change the CPU and the price goes up:D

seriusly guys im not saying my build was great lol but he has a very tight budget.

Yes, that is very tight, when I consult with biz clients, we reach an agreement that a computer's expense will not be less than $500. That is just my way of dealing, it saves them from bad parts and me from bargaining and hunting them down.

yeah exactly but some people just dont realise that :D

I forget who came up with the build with a dual core and 512MB of RAM, but that is the better choice with such a small budget.

The CPU is more expensive to upgrade, so while you are building the comp now, go for the more expensive processor and then upgrade the RAM later on.

I mean im not sure but, dual core + 512MB = single core + 1GB, I mean obviously one configuration is better for certain things, but I mean its a $300 budget.
