Only thing i see that you should change is the ECS motherboard, in my opinion and experience ECS boards suck!

-you don't need the card reader but there nice to have
-you don't need a sound card right away but there nice to have
-most of the time you don't use the PSU that comes with the case, ultra isn't the best PSU wise
-the 8600 will be around $130USD
-get a Asus P5B, the ECS kinda suck

Also, I heard that the Ultra Alumius case isn't good for beginners. Is this true?

I don't know too much about that case, but the included PSU is a reasonably good quality Wintech build. 600W and above XVSs are based on the same platform as the X-Finity. Honestly, it's the sort of thing I wouldn't mind buying even without the bundled case.
