Hope you don't mind me being rather blunt...

First off, I HATE celerons and you'd be MUCH better off if you could find a Sempron or Duron. A 1.8 celeron is NOTHING today, but a 1.8 P4 or some AMD processor would be decent. As for the board, its ok, but it too has some age on it...

The harddrive is ok... It's slow, and I don't like maxtor(about 6 of their drives failed on me) Plus you have an SATA cable in the list but the drive's IDE...

The CD-ROM is used, and only a CD-ROM. Unless you absolutely can't fit it into your budget, I'd reccomend going with at least a DVD-ROM.

Soundcard I feel would be a waste. You'll have onboard sound so there's no real need for another card. You don't have any speakers selected so I'm assuming you won't be using 5.1...

The RAM is much better than the board can support and you should probably reconsider it. I suspect you could find something cheaper. Sometimes 2 512M sticks go for less than single 1024M chips...

I'd suggest redoing it and trying to build yourself a better computer. YOu got a lot of problems with this one...

I am quite new to building computers as well, but I should mention that
the video card is good
Your mobo only supports upto 2 GB of Ram, you should reconsider this
Get a serail ATA Hard Disk
You will find better price for 1 GB Ram at newegg.com
You can get a CD burner or a combo drive for $20. CD burner is a must
Newegg had a sale going on for DVD burner (4X) for $30. I have a 16X
Your mobo support P4, so thats good, but are you satisfied with 2 GB of RAM capacity??

With a little research, it's quite easy to find what'll work and all with specific motherboards. You just have to know what your getting(like SATA cables for a board without SATA AND a non-SATA drive, come on :p )

agreed do a little more research on whats available. I find
http://www.buildyourown.org.uk/
to be good. Write down phrases or terms that you dont understand and then google to look them up.

We will be here to check over your selections and tell if things dont stack up. Oh and it may be best to get you stuff from multiple suppliers, provided postage doesnt wipe out the net difference

No offence dude, but get a prebuilt system... You don't seem to know what you're doing and I'm afraid you're going to just mess something up...

FYI, that video card is an AGP and you selected an SLi motherboard which ONLY accepts PCIe 16x cards...
