Building A Computer - Safety Precautions

When you build a computer are there any precautions you need to take so you don't accidently short out a componant with static or otherwise.

Touch components using the edges. If you are really worried then buy a antistatic wristband.

Whenever I build or work on a desktop, I just touch the case or hold onto it when i'm working with components.

Me thinks it would be rather difficult to hold the case while installing the motherboard or power supply.

no but you could sufficiently ground yourself by consistently touching the case
