Building a computer

Hello all. I have been reading various posts regarding building a PC, etc. I have seen MANY different variations and finally decided it was just better to ask. I appreciate GREATLY anyone who has any answers and input.

Background...OK, here we go. I have a custom built PC right now, but it is about 4-5 years old, and i finally came to realizations after i tried to install the Starcraft 2 beta and it said my video card was not up to standards. I am in a little situation now. I use my computer SIMPLY just to browse the internet, look up youtube videos, burn music(ipod) and would LIKE to be able to burn Blu Rays. I also would like to be able to play Starcraft 2. Thats probably the only game i would play, because i use 360 and PS3 for anything else.

What i want...A PC that is VERY fast on the internet, and doesnt take a day to load images. A PC that plays videos in great quality without screwing up half way through. A PC that i can use to burn a blu ray without having an error message or taking 20 minutes to complete. And FINALLY, a PC that i can pop a game, like Starcraft 2, and not have any errors and have it play fast and clear, without stuttering.

My Price...I would REALLY like to keep it under $1000. I have seen MANY PC's on here that have been built VERY nice for under $800. The lower, the better, but i like to keep my PC's for a couple years. I do NOT use it daily, because this one is annoying and i cant even get on sites like google without having a problem.

I thank everyone VERY much in advance, and look forward to hearing what everyone has as far as input wise.

For the internet its really more about the speed of your connect than your computer if you get atleast a 10mbps connection or faster you should be ok

Here are a few computer to get you started you can pick what you want

Well thank ou for the quick reply. I figured it would be an answer like that. However, id like my computer to load up pages as fast as the connection can handle. I also went to that site to look around, but there is SOOO much custom options that i got overwhelmed. Like i said, i didnt need some super computer, but id like it to be pretty well done now, so i dont have to upgrade in a couple months.

Any specific reason you would choose that one over the one I posted?

cheaper to build yourself
quality control because you can choose components/manufacturers
you know exactly what is in there if you need to/want to upgrade/replace parts
warranty for individual items so you can claim on a single one
some parts (memory, almost certainly) have lifetime warranty
more fun :)

Well you certainly make valid points! Haha. I forgot to mention before that I had never built a computer before, I have only had them built for me. I have heard horror stories about building them, but I have also heard it was no a terribly tough task now a days. So cyberpower route may be a better idea. What do you think?

Thank you for your response and the time you took to do all that. I really appreciate it. I am really leaning towards the cyberpower idea, and i think i am going to pull the trigger in the next few days. I just want to make sure i have the best for what i am going to spend. I will configure out your setup tomorrow, well, later today, and see how it goes.
I thank you very much for all the time you guys have taken out to help me. Any further input is still greatly appreciated.

you can't just link it because it puts the basic specs there, that is why daisy listed the whole thing

Sorry about that...I thought the link would be suffice...

Here is one that i built based off what i was given on the previous page. I decided that maybe i should go with NON AMD because i keep reading that AMD is just not as good. Its just a way to keep price down...With that said, i was wondering if there is somethings that i DONT need, or something that i SHOULD upgrade and downgrade on something else. Anyways...Here is the build...

CMPSU-650TX better than CoolerMaster Silent Pro 600W

Personally don't like the case as it lack of space to add extra fan.

Didn't you got only $1000??

Ok. Ill switch the power and try a different case. Any recommendations on case? Id really like for it to be pretty quiet, but would like to see the temperature because it gets hot sometimes in the room.

What about video card and motherboard? Or ram?

And yea, I was looking at trying to spend only $1000 if i go over a little I'm not too worried. I like to keep my computers for a couple years, so id rather spend a little extra now than have to shell out another $1000 later on. If I say id spend $1500, then I would like to include a pretty good monitor, but the one I have now I think is pretty decent. It gets the job done.

Just so you know my i5-750 build wont watch internet movies of fill the buffer faster on my $500 2gb card than my $50 GPU.

I was blown away watching streaming videos when I build my i5 rig and thought it must have something to do with my top of the line GPU. There does not seem to be much of a diff. Hope that helps you save money.

If you are in the SF Bay Area there is a nice Gaming computer with good specs listed for $600 including a 5850. I'd buy it if I needed another computer...

OK, bumping this up...

I am really hoping to finalize the build this weekend, so i can get my order in and my new computer to me so i can start playing starcraft 2. :)

I would REALLY like to keep it at $1000, so anything i can downgrade, or take off to put it at $1000? Right now, its about $1500. I have a monitor, keyboard and mouse, but i think im going to need to upgrade the monitor. If the TOTAL build, WITH monitor, comes to $1500, i wouldnt be upset. Just trying to keep it around $1000, because thats really all i need. I dont need a hardcore gaming computer. Right now, my computer wont even load pages like Google, or Yahoo, or ANY good search engines. I KNOW its a virus, im just tired of downloading programs to try and fix it, only to get the same problem each time.

Also, i looked at the computer you showed me in CA, but id like to get my own, from scratch, so i dont have to worry about anything.

Thank you, AGAIN, for everyones help and input. I look forward to ordering within the next couple of days, and getting back into the gaming world.
