Hello, I was wondering if i could get some help with parts for a new desktop. I am very inexperienced, but I have done some research, but I would prefer to get a more experienced persons word. It is going to be mainly used for gaming with games such as battlefield, planet 2, and minecraft. Thanks to anyone that's willing to help:good:

Here ya go, plenty of money left for a nice case. This build should max out pretty much any game you throw at it.

I would recommend a case from a good manufacturer like Corsair, NZXT, or Fractal Design

^ I like PC part picker but it does some silly things. If you were going to get the 4790K from Micro Center then you would qualify for their bundle which would knock a ASUS Z97-AR price down to $99 for the board, instead.

If you are not familiar with building a computer you may need to have a computer shop build it. This is my list. I chose Gigabyte as the mother board because I like the duel BIOS, solid caps and solid board. I have had nothing but Gigabyte. I chose a Hitachi hard drive since I read a few articles about there durability. I chose Windows 7 Home Premium 64. It is limited to 16 GB of RAM. can't imagine why you would want more RAM. Windows 8 is an App! I chose 1 stick of 8 GB of RAM with a 9 CAS. Lower CAS means better performance. With RAM you want the highest speed, lowest CAS and lowest voltage. If you have 7.1 speakers instead of 5.1 speakers this board has 7.1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128709
