Building a Gaming PC - Help

Hello

I'm looking in to Building my own PC. The main uses will be for gaming and general internet use. I want a computer that will play games on full settings and one that hopefully wont need to be replaced in just a few years.

I have been given some advice and have came up with the below spec.

I'm looking for some advice on this, I'm pretty sure that I will go with what I have noted below, but would like to know if there would be any compatibility problems and also would like some advice if im going wrong somewhere, for example, I have chosen something which isnt good enough.

A 980x costs about 5 times as much as a 950 (around here anyways), which is still more than what's needed for current games. Unless you are doing significant video encoding or 3d rendering, I doubt you'd ever see much use for the massively expensive 980x. Also, the scaling on 5870's is nowhere near as good as the 6xxx series, and multiple card setups are apparently more tempermental.

If you are running 1 monitor an Nvidia 570 will suite you especially well and is less costly than 2 5870's. The 580 is the next step up, and is a monster, but you are paying a steep premium for the tradeoffs in performance from the 570. If you prefer AMD/ATI cards then a 6970 will work for you and is also less expensive than dual 5870's. Also, AMD is said to releasing a 6990 soon, I believe, which may or may not be their rival to the Nvidia 580.

Also, have a google at the i7-2600k. It is part of the Sandybridge line set to be released by Intel in about 2 weeks.

For your SSD:
When you manage the size of pagfile,/either reduce the size or set it at 0/, to reduce the amout of writing the drive does, you'll want more than 4gb of memory.
Since it's dual channel I recommed 8gb. 12 wouldn't be as outlandish as it seems.
7-64b w/ssd will use it. If you have enough ram and mange pf to 0, then you can obviously load more to 12 than you can 8. So unless your going to have a lot or some big programs open at once. 8 should be good.
