Building a gaming pc

Which country are you situated in?

There have been some threads here created by other people looking to build systems with the same kind of budget as you. I'm going to have a look through them and find some parts for you.

spirit: it says under join date. Location: Finland..

Didn't see that, thanks. :)

I found the other thread with the Euro build. This guy's budget is around 800 Euros and he is looking to get the following:

MoBo: Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3, AMD AM3+, 990X/SB950, DDR3, ATX (109,-€)
CPU: AMD FX-6300, AM3+, 3.5GHz, 6-core (112,80€)
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO (34,90€)
GPU: XFX AMD Radeon HD7850 Core Edition, 2GB GDDR5, 2xDVI/HDMI, 2xMiniDp (129,-€)
RAM: Kingston 8GB (2x4GB) HyperX Beast, 1600MHz (98,-€)
SSD: Kingston 120GB (84,-€)
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB (65,-€)
PSU: Corsair CX600M (80,-€)
Case: Corsair Carbide Series 300R (99,90€)
Optical Drive: ASUS DRW-24F1ST (23,-€)

Since you have 900 Euros, I would maybe look to get yourself a 7870 or R9 270X instead of a 7850, and upgrade the CPU to an FX-8320. Otherwise, this is a solid build for around the 900 Euro mark.

Thanks man it seems like a good build but I was thinking more about having a intel CPU and a Asus nvidia GPU so what kind of CPU and GPU would you recommend?

You'll probably be looking at an i3 and a mid-range Z87 board and a GTX 650 Ti or maybe a 760 if you want Intel and NVIDIA.

You might be able to squeeze an i5 and a mid-range Z87 board into your budget.

I would personally go for the AMD GPU and CPU wise whatever I could afford on this occasion.

And includes OS, for some reason Jason didn't include that. Better CPU, better GPU, slightly worse board. But you could probly fit a 990FX board in that budget, like the one Spirit recommended. No SSD either but you could also add one of those. A Intel and Asus nvidia setup would be significantly worse and is a bad idea. A 8320 will be around 30 percent better then a i3 in most games, and will be 70 percent better in BF4, with more to come, because they take advantage of the extra cores.

Good build, I think the guy I originally specced that build for didn't need an OS though, hence why I omitted it from the list.

I should have asked if you needed an OS though. If so, then 7 x64 or 8.1 x64 is the way to go.

EDIT:

@PCunicorn, you configured an $800 build, this guy is in Finland and has 900 Euros to spend. 900 Euros = just under $665 USD, and parts are more expensive in Europe than America, so he may not be able to buy all of those parts you recommended on his budget. The build I configured was for another European who was looking to spend about 800 Euros (which is $591), so he should be able to buy the parts I recommended with 900 Euros or so.
